Staying On Subsidy Application

The Staying On Facilitator supports the carer to apply for the Staying On Subsidy as part of the Staying On Agreement meeting.

This is a contract between the Carer/s and Department of Communities.

The Conditions of the subsidy are included in the Subsidy Application Form.

The Staying On Subsidy is administered by Department of Communities Subsidy Unit- The Staying on Facilitator or delegate- submits the application on behalf of the carer and young person.

The subsidy rate is reviewed every 12 months and the amount is reduced each year 75% in the second year and 50% in the final year. As the Staying On Subsidy decreases it is encouraged that the young persons’ contribution increases. This helps the young person prepare for their future housing costs.
